Experts behind Tax Simplified

Every article on Tax Simplified is written by a practising CPA, tax lawyer, or licensed financial professional. No anonymous content, no AI-generated tax advice — just real expertise from people who work in Canadian tax every day.

Our editorial standards

Tax information needs to be correct. A mistake on a CRA form, a missed deadline, or bad advice about an RRSP contribution can cost a Canadian thousands of dollars and years of stress. That is why every piece of content on Tax Simplified is produced and reviewed by licensed professionals.

To contribute to Tax Simplified, a writer must hold an active CPA designation, a law degree with demonstrated tax practice, or equivalent professional credentials recognized in Canada. We do not publish content from unlicensed financial influencers, affiliate marketers, or generative AI tools.

Every article is reviewed by at least one additional CPA or tax lawyer before publication. All dollar figures, rates, contribution limits, and deadlines are verified against CRA publications, the Income Tax Act, the Excise Tax Act, or the CPA Canada Handbook. When a CRA announcement or federal budget changes a number, we update the affected articles within 24 hours and note the revision at the top of the page.

Contributors disclose their firm affiliation in their byline, but articles may not promote their firm's services. The content must stand on its own merits as education for the reader. Our editorial team retains the right to edit any submission for accuracy, length, and clarity.

All content on Tax Simplified is intended for educational purposes and does not constitute personal tax advice. Readers with specific tax situations should consult a licensed professional — we make it easy to find one in their area.
